00:01 Welcome back to the Rich Man podcast. It's been quite some time at my beautiful human beings, but we had a beautiful rebrand happening and I wanted to start this new era of the Rich Man podcast with just a fresh perspective, fresh guests, you'll see them on the podcast.
00:23 All the things. So we're back, we're back in action. It's better and it's bigger than ever, which of course, and I wanted to start off this, this relaunch of the podcast with talking about our lowest income month ever.
00:38 September was our lowest month to date, and it was a month where we celebrated the most. And I didn't, I was gonna record this back in September or in October when it was like fresher in the sense of like, we were really writing a high of just like what felt really good, but I had a feeling that there was more that was landing in the sense of like what I was learning and what I was integrating.
01:03 And now looking back, I'm like, now is the time to record this podcast episode, because what came through is just f*****g legendary.
01:11 And I have truly upheld a standard in my business where I'm like, holy s**t, in hindsight, I cannot wait to share this.
01:19 So that's what we're doing today. So September being our lowest month to date, I literally went in my mastermind with my coach and I was like, is it weird that this, our income is so low this month, but I'm like on a high?
01:33 And she's like, no, this is next level integration and this is a portal that I have avoided. And we celebrated a multitude of things during this process, but it was, we, I, I wanted to step into going into Q4 and going into the new year.
01:53 I really wanted to uphold higher standards, raising prices raising expectations, speaking to a new kind of client. Like we really, really wanted to move into a different realm when it came to the business that I was holding.
02:08 And my worst case scenario happened, my income plummeted, right? My income went down like it nearly 50%, which is absolutely mind boggling because we were upgrading our standards.
02:23 Now that this has to be the truth for you, but it was for us, we brought, it, brought in a lot of nos.
02:29 A lot of clients didn't wanna resign because of the prices. We had a lot of tough conversations when it came to hiring and firing and like, there was just a lot of things that we were doing from like a very big CEO's end point.
02:41 It was very uncomfortable growth in, in the moment. But I was celebrating the fact that I was not f*****g panicking.
02:49 Like I had so much like inner regulation, emotional regulation that I was like, I wasn't freaking out. I wasn't making decisions outta fear of like, oh my God, our income is low.
03:00 Let's just pop up a bunch of things. Let's sell a bunch of things. Let's do a lot of things. I hold myself to a really high regard that I will never just sell things to sell things.
03:07 It's always coming from a place of true intention and actual value. And I was celebrating the fact that like, I felt neutral in this moment of like seeing our income being low.
03:18 I didn't internalize it. And like, that's huge growth when you get to a place where you're no longer making your business means something about you constantly, which we do, right?
03:28 We, we have this idea that like, oh my gosh, my income is low. People hate me. People aren't resigning. It must be because they don't like me or our work together.
03:36 Like there were so many things that I could have said to myself that I didn't. And I was honestly ex, I was excited, I was excited to hold this new standard and I was like, I cannot wait to see what this leads to.
03:47 And now I'm in a place where I get to talk to you about where it's led to because that is just effing epic.
03:53 But I was trusting without the proof, right, of people resigning. I was trusting my new prices. I was inv and I was investing without fear of profit loss.
04:02 So one of the big things that I think we tend to do is when our income is low, we're like, oh gosh, panic.
04:07 I gotta either ask for a refund or bow out of my commitment or do all these other things. Even in our lowest month, I still set my coach 10 grand for a deposit for a coaching.
04:17 Like never once I ever want my circumstance to, to, to decide where I'm going, right? So a lot of us, what we tend to do is we make decisions for the moment of now and where we are versus where we actually want to go.
04:30 And for me, I will always make decisions on where I'm going, right? And I trust myself so deeply in that process.
04:38 And this was actually a beautiful, like full integration and proof that the universe was like, low income month. Let me show you what you're able to handle.
04:48 And it really was just such a unique experience and like one that I'll never forget. It's, it's weird to even think about the fact that I'm like, I'm sell.
04:56 Like, I like looking back on a year in review. Our low cash month will be literally our biggest celebration. And again, because this code just landed so deeply in my body.
05:08 So fast forward to now, right? What came through? So obviously holding a new standard when it comes to the clients that I actually wanna service in private settings when it comes to one-on-one, the kind of human beings that I want, my containers raising prices, that felt really good for me.
05:26 Like there was a lot of uplevel in the sense of I'm calling myself to be a, a, a larger leader and I'm calling my clients to meet me where I'm at.
05:36 And so with that, you know, we raised prices. Here's what's crazy that I, that I want to make sure that we hear because a lot of us are like, I can't raise my prices because no one's bought the current price.
05:49 And in October, we had actually raised our prices, but I knew I was playing like a little small, because again, we just tend to do this.
05:56 We're human beings. But when I was selling my one on one coaching or like inviting people into it, no one bought it.
06:02 Like, not one single person bought it. And I'm like, okay, Melanie, let's just, something feels off and misaligned here. Like what, what is it?
06:11 And when I looked at it, I was like, I'm playing small, the pricing, like I know I'm playing small here.
06:17 So I was like, you know what? Let's let's raise this even more. I raised it even more, even though no one was buying it, okay?
06:26 Because again, the alignment of the price point matters more. So like, again, October, the theme was like, we're really raising the standards.
06:33 And so I really wanted to focus on, you know, content that felt really expressive, like not holding back speaking to a different individual, like just really owning all the parts of me that I sometimes don't always own.
06:46 And, and again, so here's what happened. So two months later we have had people sign up at record rates. Like we nearly had a $40,000 week like cash.
06:59 It was what's, what's coming through from holding the standard was I held the standard and I, I held the standard without proof.
07:08 I held a higher caliber, and I hate to say the higher, higher caliber client, but I held a certain kind of individual that I wanted to work with.
07:14 I held that vision even when, when anyone was buying, even when no one was liking or sharing or commenting, like whatever.
07:20 I wasn't even worried about the analytics. I was just like, I wanna be fully expressive and I wanna really own this platform of mine and, and what I stand for, what I believe in the brand.
07:28 I got really, really clear on all of it. And October end up being a month, we were like a 60.
07:35 We were up 60% in, in our revenue for the year. So like getting back to where we normally were, if you will.
07:43 And then this month in November, we have just income is just skyrocketed. Like I am strapping myself to the rocket and we're just going like, it, it is such a, it's such a fun feeling of like, we're just soaring and I'm just enjoying the ride and like we're just having fun with it and we're up and it's the middle of the month in November.
08:05 Our income is up 70% from October. So just showing how you can go from a, and again, this is where what I wanna get across is for a lot of us, what will happen is we take that low income month, we make it mean everything about ourselves, and we go downward.
08:24 We go downward. We don't take that as a moment to be like, okay, where can I truly activate my f*****g power here?
08:30 And where can I clean up? What doesn't feel right for me anymore? Where can I raise the standard and raise the bar even more, right?
08:36 There's always a lesson in the, in the messiness. And we, I took the time to really like, okay, let's get really clear here.
08:44 Because again the vibe for Q4 was just a massive cleanup and a massive up level. So because I didn't allow that to like, take me down a spiral of I suck and no one likes me, I took it as a a time where I'm like, how can I lead myself even more in this moment?
09:01 And the what has happened since then was like a holy s**t moment of like, it's just the, the proof that I have always held without actually having it, which is wild of when I hold the standard, even when no one's buying, even when there's no proof, the proof comes.
09:19 It is wild. It is wild. And again, I'm still like pinch me moment, not, and I almost feel too, when you experience this, it's like an unstoppable feeling of like, even my worst case scenario doesn't phase me.
09:31 Like a low income month doesn't phase me, doesn't phase me, does not phase me, but it's a, what if I hold the standard even more or like another standard, like what can happen from there?
09:44 So I've really just been playing into this energy of like really cleaning up all the spaces where I'm like, this does not feel aligned anymore.
09:51 And I, this feels too low when it comes to price point. And it's just been, it's been record breaking. The, the, the humans that are coming through into my world are like next level human beings.
10:02 Like I am just like, where have you been coming? Like, where, where'd you come from? I love you. Like stay.
10:08 It's amazing. We had a, when we were launching the new era of selling, we had an Oopsy email go out that actually granted everyone 50% off of the program, which was not supposed to happen.
10:20 And I didn't know that it went out, right? That coupon code, it was very weird how it was attached to the checkout page.
10:26 Anyway, so we sales were coming in and, and the team was like, I don't see a, I don't see a payment plan with this number.
10:33 Like, where are these coming from? And I'm like, what the hell? And then I'm getting messages from people saying, Hey, when's this sale gonna last?
10:39 Or like, when does this sale end? I'm like, what the hell's happening? So we found the mistake in the coupon, we deleted it immediately, and then we actually went back to each person who had purchased and said, Hey, we can either refund you what you had paid or we can send you an invoice to make up the difference.
10:54 Like we made it very, very clear that this program is the price that it's at. And that was a mistaken our end.
10:59 We're not gonna honor the mistake though, because again, I wanna honor the, the, the integrity of the container and the integrity of people who have already purchased at the correct price point.
11:08 And never once did I say to myself like, oh my gosh, I'm gonna upset people, or Oh my gosh, they're gonna be mad at me.
11:13 Or like, oh my gosh, they're not gonna pay. I'm gonna lose out in sales. We have truly entered a new level of just leadership.
11:22 And the coolest part about it all is every single person, every single person pay the difference. That one person was like, oh, f this.
11:34 I don't want anymore like, kiss, send me a refund. Every single person rose to the mother f-ing occasion. And it was amazing to see that.
11:42 And I'm like, ugh, the humans in my world are just next level. The power in me sees the power in you.
11:51 And I, I cannot say that enough. That's the, the, the, it's just the honest truth. And anyone who was inquiring about the sale and was like, oh, I thought the program was half price, they still bought the program.
12:04 They still joined. They still joined, right? The amount of regulation of like, I wasn't worried about losing sales, I wasn't worried about them not buying, I wasn't worried about like we've truly entered a new level in business and it all came from our low cash month.
12:21 There's so much beauty again in the mess. As long as we have the courage and the self leadership to say, okay, things aren't my circumstantially, things aren't, aren't going well in the sense of like, whatever, whatever it is, right?
12:38 But personally, I'm going to triumph through this. I'm not going to just survive this. I'm going to thrive through this.
12:49 And although I wasn't just doing it hoping to God things were gonna work out, I just trusted myself that I would figure itself out as long as I held the standard, as long as I believe it to be.
13:01 So it's the same thing that I, that I talk about when it comes to the bamboo plant. When we plant our seeds, right, we're not sitting there questioning whether or not we're doing everything right or doing it wrong because we don't see any growth happening immediately.
13:14 All of it's happening underneath the surface, right? The roots are taking the ground and before you know it, it all grows.
13:24 It's bamboo season and we're experiencing bamboo season now and we're continuing to plant more seeds and we're doing all the things, but it's a constant up level.
13:31 But I wanted to share this experience with you because it was just absolutely mind bending and it was beautiful and it was something that I will truly cherish for forever and I cannot wait to see what else is birthed from this experience.
13:46 So if you're going through it, thrive through it, it's a chance for you. Anything that we go through, a chance for you to, to look at where you're sticky, a chance for you to lead yourself more powerfully, a chance for you to integrate your work even further, A chance for you to raise your standards.
