If you want to sell your service, it’s vital to create relationships with your ideal clients, but how do you do this without feeling icky / slimy?
We’ve all gotten a DM (or 12 LOL) from people who immediately jump into a sales pitch without even getting to know you. ... and if you’re like me, you’re saying to yourself “really??!!” We don’t want to be THOSE people.
Sounds like an obvious one but a lot of times we forget how far a compliment or a simple question can go. Show them what real life looks like for you. People admire perfection, but they connect to REAL. Interact with them.
Comment on how cute their dog is or ask them what they do for a living. Compliment their shirt or ask them where they’re from or what they’re goals are.
Ya don’t have to have a sales pitch at the end of each convo - GET TO KNOW THEM. (It’s the easy and free market research!)
Each piece of content should be of value for your ideal client. Give them (free!) valuable pieces of content they can use. Feel like you’re giving away too much? Impossible, keep giving.
Bonus tip: if you know of a handful of followers that are always liking your posts: DM them and ask them what other content you can put out that’ll help them.
You’d be shocked at how many pages I go through and don’t actually feel like I know what the person is all about. Sure, I may know what you DO - but WHO are you?
Nothing builds a genuine connection like telling your story and being your authentic self. If you’re a weirdo, be a weirdo.
If you are obsessed with dogs, a StarWars geek, book obsessed or volunteer at the zoo - SHOW THAT & be more of it!
Your story, your uniqueness is your superpower.
The world is changing: we could care less about who’s “perfect” and care more about who’s REAL.
