5 (PROVEN) Social Media Marketing Tips For Online Female Entrepreneurs

Growing your online business has a lot of moving parts: social media, email marketing, sales calls, blogging, etc. (talk about exhausting!) So many different things you could be doing, what do you have to do?

Here are 5 (PROVEN) Social Media Marketing Tips For Online Female Entrepreneurs:

1. The Riches are in the Niches

A niche is a specific group of people. (Bonus points: the more specific you are, the better)

Many of us believe that we need to talk to everyone, but in reality - if you talk to everyone you talk to no one. Find your niche and talk to one singular person within that group.

Here's what I mean...

My own niche is online female entrepreneurs who offer some type of service: mentorship, coaching, etc.

Every piece of content I put out, is directed toward a singular person that exists inside of that niche

If you aren't specific enough or are too general in how you communicate online, you'll be ignored / passed up - if it doesn't directly talk to anyone - why would they care?

Get specific!

2. You Don't Have to do it All

There are so many ways to reach your audience online: YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Podcast, Twitter, Blogging... how do you know which is right for you?

I have a little secret for you, babe... you should only be on the platforms your ideal audience is on.

Let's say your ideal client/customer is a 45 yr old mom of 3 that takes her gut health seriously... is she spending her time on YouTube? Searching Twitter for advice? (She's probably on Facebook joining communities that offer support / advice on that topic.)

When you get really specific, you'll know exactly where your person is and where they consume information (hint hint: where you can connect with them!)

Instead of spending 900 hours a week being on ALL platforms, do a little research and find which ones matter to your person.

3. It's About Them, Not About You.

Your business is never about you - even if you're the face of it. Your business is about the person you serve.

Everything will become so much easier for you once you recognize that.

Your content, the words you speak, the topics you cover should be directed toward themand not things you just want to talk about or say.

For instance: (if you're a nutritionist / trainer)

"For breakfast I had _____. YUM!"

vs

"Here are easy breakfast ideas for you to make. I made it this morning and you're gonna love it!"

Ya feel me?

4. Tell Them Where To Go, ALWAYS.

I come across so many pieces of content that simply end. Every piece of content you put out into the world (directly at your ideal human) should tell them to do something after - we call this a Call To Action or a CTA.

If you write a bomb ass Instagram post, end it with a:

  • "Comment ____"
  • "Head over to the link in my bio to learn more about _____"
  • "Send me a DM saying ____ to get started."

If you're doing a Facebook Live, end with a:

  • "Comment ____"
  • "Tag a friend below!"
  • "Want a free ____, drop your email address below"

You get the idea.

Adding a call to action should drive your consumer to do something / go somewhere else: opt-in to an email list, start a conversation, increase engagement, etc.

5. Be Yourself

Listen, I know you've heard this 900x in your life but this is something we often forget - especially in the online space.

The world is saturated with people who already do what you do. The reason someone should choose you over a competitor is because of YOU.

  • If you're weird, be weird.
  • If you love Weiner dogs, tell everyone.
  • If you like pineapple on your pizza (heyoooo!), let people know.

The goofy, funny, incredible inspiring things about you will connect you to so many more people. You are you for a reason, and I want you to own that shit.

It's exhausting trying to be what other people are because it works for them. Eventually you'll get fed up. Show up as you, always.
